Born in Leiden on January 28, 2002, Samantha Van Diemen began her career at CTO, the training center of the Dutch federation. In 2018, when the project ended, she moved to Ajax, where she won the 2019/20 championship with the youth team and made her professional debut on October 9, 2020, against Heerenveen.
In 2021 she transferred to Feyenoord, a club where she played for one season before moving to Fortuna Sittard. After two years in the Netherlands, the defender had her first experience abroad wearing the jersey of Glasgow City in Scotland.
In the summer of 2025, she arrived in Italy to play for Roma: with the Giallorossi shirt, she made 12 appearances across the league, Women’s Champions League, and Serie A Women’s Cup, winning the Scudetto and Coppa Italia. Internationally, after playing for the Dutch youth national teams and appearing in three friendlies with the Oranje, she chose to represent the Dominican Republic, her mother’s country of origin. With the Caribbean national team, she debuted in May 2025, scoring a goal in the friendly won 4-2 against Honduras.
