Today is the day when Inter will submit the UEFA list to participate in the first phase of the next Champions League. The list will be subject to restrictions, and for this reason Simone Inzaghi can include 23 players instead of 25. Therefore, the coach from Piacenza will have to make a double exclusion, removing two names from the squad.
According to Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport, the two players to be left out will be Tajon Buchanan and Joaquin Correa. The Canadian is still recovering from a tibia fracture suffered in the summer during the Copa America and will only be available towards late autumn, by which time the Champions League will already be in full swing. The Argentine, on the other hand, is considered the fifth forward option and is behind Marko Arnautovic in the hierarchy. It is also worth noting – as reported by the Turin newspaper – that Henrikh Mkhitaryan can be adapted to play in attack in case of emergency.
The new arrival Tomas Palacios will therefore be part of the 23, although a possible exclusion was hypothesized due to the adaptation time of the young defender, which could be lengthy. However, the Argentine will be included in the list and will be one of the alternatives to Alessandro Bastoni, along with Carlos Augusto and Francesco Acerbi, who were often deployed in that role during the past season.
