Sassuolo has decided to temporarily block the sale of tickets for the away section ahead of Sunday’s match against Inter at the Mapei Stadium. The decision by the Emilian club comes as they await the determinations of the National Observatory on Sporting Events after what happened yesterday in Cremona.
During the match at the Zini, an Inter fan threw a firecracker onto the pitch, which exploded near goalkeeper Audero. The incident prompted Sassuolo to suspend ticket sales pending any measures from the competent authorities.
“Sassuolo Calcio announces that ticket sales for the Sassuolo-Inter match, valid for the 24th matchday of Serie A Enilive, are temporarily suspended, pending any determinations by the National Observatory on Sporting Events,” reads the official statement from the neroverde club.
The club also specified that it will announce the timing and methods of ticket sales through a subsequent official communication. The situation therefore remains in flux, with Inter fans having to wait for the outcome of the Observatory’s assessments before being able to purchase tickets for the away section.
