Due to the injury confirmed yesterday, Simone Inzaghi will have to do without Nicolò Barella for the next three matches against Udinese, Stella Rossa, and Torino. The Sardinian midfielder will be available only after the break at the beginning of the month, therefore for the challenge against Roma on October 20th.
In the meantime, the Piacenza technician will have to reinvent a midfield without the probably best player of this early season. There will be room for Davide Frattesi, the natural substitute for Barella, who is looking for more space. But that’s not all, because Inzaghi would be thinking of completely transforming the Nerazzurri’s midfield.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the coach might leave Mkhitaryan out by technical choice for Saturday’s match with Udinese. The Armenian, as in the past year, has been one of the players Inzaghi used the most at the start of this season. However, his performance in the derby was not up to scratch, and his current physical condition suggests the need for a change with Zielinski, ready for his first start in the Serie A with Inter’s shirt.
