It has been an incredible week for Francesco Pio Esposito. Just a few hours after his debut wearing the Inter shirt at San Siro in the Italian championship, he traveled to Coverciano to answer his first call-up with the Senior National Team coached by Gennaro Gattuso.
Intense emotions that the young striker described like this at the press conference: “Everything is happening very quickly. I am very happy to be here for the first time, it’s a huge emotion. This is a very positive moment, but in football everything can change quickly and you need great balance.”
Referring to the National Team, he spoke about his best memory linked to the Azzurri shirt: “Balotelli’s goal against Germany, it was my birthday and I was at home with friends. I suffered because of the failure to qualify for the last two World Cups, now we are here to try to reverse this trend.”
Growth also due to the advice of his brothers, Salvatore and Sebastiano: “Salvatore told me to enjoy the experience, to live this moment without too many worries. When I’m with my brothers, though, we try to talk as little as possible about football. Inter? From Lautaro I would steal his aggression, he always gives 100%, even in training. From Marcus, the simplicity in doing things, in dribbling past opponents. Of my teammates in the National Team, I have always liked Scamacca, I think he is a complete striker.”
