After just two seasons, Benjamin Pavard‘s career at Inter comes to an end. The French defender has officially become a new player for Marseille in the very last hours of the summer transfer window that has just closed. The Nerazzurri club has replaced him with Manuel Akanji from Manchester City.

This operation has angered many fans who expressed their discontent on social media, as many believed a quality addition like the Swiss player was necessary for the defense, but without letting go of a starter like the former Bayern Frenchman, who could have been a great help with his experience this season.

Pavard goes to Marseille on a loan with an option to buy, so his future at Inter may not be completely compromised if he returns to the Nerazzurri next summer. As reported by Sky, the French club will be able to buy out the 1996-born defender for 15 million euros after having just paid 2.5 million for the loan.

The former Bayern Munich defender himself has left the door open regarding his future with a message posted on his Instagram profile: “Thank you for the endless support. Inter forever. This is not a goodbye, it’s a see you soon.”
