The first summer friendly match of Cristian Chivu‘s Inter took place this morning – Sunday, August 3rd – against Stefano Vecchi‘s Under 23 team in a sort of “in-house test.” Three players were absent for the first team: the first two, already known, were Bisseck and Zielinski, out due to injury.

The third absent player in the Inter first team was Josep Martinez. The Spanish goalkeeper was not even on the team sheet, and in fact, the starting goalkeeper Sommer and the third goalkeeper Di Gennaro each played one half of the match. Matteo Barzaghi, reporting from the field for Sky Sport, revealed the reason for the absence.

In recent days, Josep Martinez has suffered from a bothersome backache that has also hindered him in training, and for this reason, it was decided to rest him today as a precaution. In the coming days, the Spanish goalkeeper will test his physical condition again ahead of Inter’s upcoming friendly matches.
