In the last few hours, the Inter transfer market has had to face a tough obstacle with Atalanta‘s refusal in the deal for Ademola Lookman. The Nerazzurri management seems determined to give coach Chivu the Nigerian striker, but they are also considering alternatives in case they need to change their target.

As already reported on these pages in recent hours, the main transfer target for Inter in attack (if Lookman does not arrive) would be Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea. The former Leipzig player is highly regarded by the Nerazzurri directors and from France comes further confirmation of this operation.

According to the newspaper L’Equipe, Nkunku‘s agents have in fact been in negotiations with Inter for days to try to bring their client to Serie A. The future of the French striker is of great interest to the French newspapers and fans, also in view of next year’s World Cup, and for this reason a move to the Nerazzurri could be appreciated.
