The **Serie B** championship **concluded** last night with the playing of the final matchday, which had been postponed due to the funeral of Pope Francis last Saturday, April 26th. One of the **standout protagonists** of this season has undoubtedly been the talent Francesco Pio **Esposito**, who performed very well wearing the **Spezia** jersey, where he arrived **on loan** from **Inter**.
The **striker, born in 2005**, **carried** his team, **Spezia**, to a **third-place finish**, which will allow the Ligurian side to compete in the **playoffs** and thus keep alive the **hope** of returning to **Serie A**. Even in the last match against **Cosenza**, **Esposito** scored, netting his 17th goal in this **Serie B** campaign, in addition to **two assists**.
With these **17 goals**, the striker, who came up through the **Inter** academy, finishes **second in the scoring charts** in Serie B, behind only **Laurienté** of **Sassuolo**, who is first with 18. Now, after the **playoffs** with **Spezia**, an important **summer** awaits him, between the **Under 21 National Team** and an uncertain future yet to be written with **Inter**.
In fact, he is expected to join the **Nerazzurri first team** for the **Club World Cup** once his commitments with the Italy U21 team are over. It will be up to Simone **Inzaghi** to assess him carefully over the summer to determine whether he is already ready to compete at the highest level with **Inter**, or if he needs another **loan** spell.
